Stonecloud is one of my go-to breweries in OKC. I can always rely on them to have at least one or two tasty IPAs on tap. Their location on the west side, inside the old Sunshine Laundry/Cleaner building, is very tastefully done, and certainly a nod to historic preservation. The lit historic rooftop neon sign is testimony to this. My heart skips a beat or two each time I see that gorgeous sign.
I was surprised on a recent Friday night to find the place practically empty. In fact, there was only one car parked out front, which caused me to get out quickly to check the hours of operation on the door. Turns out I just found them at a quiet moment.
That said, I was able to engage in great convo with the bartender, who gave me his insights into the beers. I started with a slender glass of Queen of Slams, an Imperial DIPA (8% ABV). This looked and tasted a lot like a mimosa, but was all beer. Delightful! Brunch, anyone?
Next on tap was Mellow, a Cold IPA (7% ABV), which I found to be a very solid rendition of this recent trend among brewers. Cold IPAs have a distinctive taste that is hard to pin down, but you know it when you taste it. Maybe it is the somewhat malty finish. In any regard, I highly recommend this one.
My bartender (whom I had for 1-on-1 convo after the last people left) then gave me a sampler of Desk Pop, a Triple IPA (15.6% ABV), which was tasty, but I knew I could never hoist a pint or two of these and be able to drive. Sip slowly and get a short pour.
Lastly, said bartender offered a sample of PHOever Yum, a delightfully tasty sour (only 4.3% ABV). It was a great hour and a half here, and I strongly encourage OKC beer travelers to give Stonecloud a try. This is among the best there is in town.
Lovely brewery with a few non alcoholic canned options. They had a community art station where you could choose drawings and take a bucket of colored pencils and color while you hungout. There were also many board games and a lounge area with a pool table and peek into the brewing area. Lots of little plants and woodwork. Nice vibes. They also have branded merchandise for sale (shirts, clothes mostly). There is a giant colorful mural on the neighboring building you see from the parking lot. The parking lot is mostly covered.
Our team had an absolute blast at the Lager Lounge! Trey and Tatum were incredible hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our event went off without a hitch. From their warm, friendly demeanor to their impressive attention to detail, we couldn't have asked for better service. The beer selection was fantastic. With so many unique and delicious options on tap and in cans, we were all able to find something we loved. Needless to say, we'll definitely be recommending the Lager Lounge at Stonecloud Brewing to everyone looking for a great spot to host an event. If you're a fan of cold brews and good vibes, you won't be disappointed!
Hands-down, the best craft brewery in OKC! They kick out delicious new beers every couple weeks, and my wife and I always discover a new brew we love. Super friendly staff and a laid-back atmosphere. …
As great a brewery as possible. Well designed, casual space. Tremendously well made beers for a variety of flavor profiles - pilsners, barrel aged, sours, etc. Super friendly service! Nice variety of beers on tap and to go. I brought …
The beer is fine. The attraction was the cool mural in the parking lot. It's now obstructed by three steel posts which largely distracts from enjoying it.
There's lots of craft beer places in Oklahoma City. …
Love the beer, games, events, and vibes at this brewery. They do the best light beer and wit in OKC as well as a variety of other options including seasonal releases. There is something for everyone here including NA options. We love seeing the pups here and ordering from food trucks when available.
My partner and I stopped by Stonecloud during a recent visit to OKC. He is a big fan of dark beers and they had several stout options. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and found a way to do a modified flight of the stouts so …
New 2017 brewery, off to a great start! Big variety of styles with complex flavors (at least among hoppy or tart beers). Modern, cleanly styled digs. Loved the interactive displays that show how close to empty each keg is. Expecting great things from these guys!
So far my favorite brewery in OKC (haven’t tried them all yet!). Every beer I tried was except, the bartender was very patient with my indecisiveness and gave great recommendations. In the end, it wouldn’t have mattered what he recommended …
